Transylvania Club Cultural Center

The Transylvania Club is a Transylvania Saxon / German organization which provides a place for its members to meet and share in their heritage. It was founded in 1951 in Kitchener by the Transylvanian Saxon community who were looking for a place to gather with their friends to remember their homeland, speak a common language and celebrate their new lives in Canada. In 1973 they replaced the old clubhouse with a larger more modern building in the same location where many artifacts, pictures, embroidered and handcrafted pieces of art and a library of German books are displayed. Since 1951 the Transylvania Club has grown to 600+ members and has become a large part of our regional community. It has hosted many political events, plays a large part in the Oktoberfest celebrations and has opened its doors to the public for weddings, conferences, business meetings, and family gatherings. The Transylvania Club is known in the community for its hospitality, cuisine and cultural contributions and authentic atmosphere. You need only to visit our club to experience the pride the Transylvania Saxons take in their heritage.
